Get ready to ride as the Orange Bike Ride returns to Otaihanga Domain and the Waikanae River Trail!
Prizes are up for grabs for the best-dressed bike and persons so get creative with your orange-themed outfits.
Enjoy free Dutch biscuits and snacks, plus Coffee Cruisers will be serving Dark Horse Coffee for purchase.
The Orange Bike Ride aims to promote cycling as a sustainable means of transport which helps us to address climate change through a standout and enjoyable family-oriented event connecting New Zealanders with the local Dutch communities in as many regions as possible across Aotearoa New Zealand.
The bike course will be a short loop around the Waikanae River Trails, completely off-road, with marshals guiding the way. It is suitable for cyclists of all ages.
The event forms part of the annual Dutch Week festival, which will be held from 26 April to 4 May 2025, celebrating all things Dutch such as culture, language, heritage and food, highlighting the strong connections between the Netherlands and Aotearoa New Zealand. It aims to share Dutch culture and contributions of local Dutch communities and businesses in a diverse Aotearoa New Zealand.
